Impact of Organizational Settings as a Precondition for Positioning on the Market
Textile and clothing industry is one of the most important industries in the Republic of Croatia. During the past ten years there has been a collapse of large enterprises, and consequently, decline in the number of employees and the share of exports in relation to other businesses in Croatia.The movement of capital and market positioning in the textile and clothing industry in Croatia has been impacted by many factors such as the war and destroyed production facilities, privatization problems, loss of former markets and slow adaptation to new market conditions, as well as large and sluggish systems.Today's fashion markets are such that they must respond to their challenges in a very short time. Market analysis show that large and inflexible systems have declined, and on the other hand, there has been an increase in small and medium enterprises that are flexible and can quickly and efficiently respond to the requirements of a very demanding market. Textile and clothing industry fall into fast- moving sectors that are specifically covered by the changes in the global market. Production must be appropriately adjusted to the market which can absorb it. Production time, trends, fashion reaction, response to the market have been significantly shortened recently. In order to enable a company to take a good position on the market it is necessary to meet certain requirements in terms of organizational settings. This paper will analyze and explain some of the prerequisites for good positioning in the market, such as organizational settings within the production that increase productivity and hence competitiveness in the market.
