Development and validation of heat pump simulation model for seasonal performance factor calculation
A steady-state simulation model is presented in this thesis along with the stages in its development. The model aims to simulate compression heat pumps with electrically driven compressors used for space and domestic hot water heating. This empirical model is based on second order polynomials that are used for approximation of coefficient of performance and capacity of the heat pump as functions of source-side and sink-side temperatures. Polynomial coefficients are calculated using test results conducted according to EN 14511. Programming was done in Neutral Model Format (NMF) modeling language and implemented in IDA Indoor Climate and Energy (IDA ICE) simulation environment. Accuracy assessment tests were conducted showing that deviations within expected values are obtained.
