Prezbiter, navjestitelj i slavitelj Kristova djela spasenja
Na osnovu posvetnih molitava za ređenje svećenika od početaka Crkve do danas, autor proučava značenje trostruke službe prezbitera u Crkvi: pastirske, navjestiteljske i posvetiteljske. Pastirsku službu, koja je po sebi također važna, prezbiter može i treba delegirati nezaređenim suradnicima. Autor zato posebno proučava druge dvije službe: službu naviještanja i službu posvećivanja, jer su one nužno vezane uz liturgiju, pri čemu je nezamjenjiva i nenadomjestiva upravo uloga prezbitera, kao biskupova suradnika. Autor ističe živi suodnos riječi i čina: kao što je u Starom zavjetu proročka riječ naviještala spasenje koje je Krist ostvario, tako danas u bogoslužju Crkve riječ, koja se naviješta, nalazi svoje ostvarenje u bogoslužnom činu, pri čemu je bogoslužje, kao takvo, ostvarenje i vršenje spasenja koje je Krist ostvario vazmenim otajstvom svoje smrti i uskrsnuća. Iz svega toga proizlazi izuzetna važnost uloge prezbitera kao navjestitelja riječi i slavitelja otajstava, jer se u liturgiji ostvaruje spasenje. Osim toga, po euharistiji – koja je izvorište i vrhunac bogoslužja i svekolikog života Crkve – nastaje i opstaje sama Crkva, prema onoj Augustinovoj: "Ecclesia facit eucharistiam, eucharistia facit ecclesiam."

Presbyter, Proclaimer and Celebrator of Christ’s Act of Salvation
Based on prayers of consecration at the ordination of priests from the beginning of the Church to our days, the author studies the meaning of the threefold function of the ministry of presbyters in the Church: pastoral, proclaiming and consecrating. The pastoral service, which is also an important service, a presbyter can and ought to delegate to non-ordained members of his community. That is why the author pays special attention to the other two services: those of proclaiming and consecrating, for they are necessarily related to the Liturgy; where the irreplaceable role is the one of a presbyter as bishop’s co-worker. The author highlights the lively correlation between the word and the act: as the prophetic word in the Old Testament announced the salvation realized by Christ, thus in the Liturgy of the Church of today the word being announced finds its realization in the act of Liturgy, whereas the Liturgy itself is both realization and performance of salvation accomplished by Christ through the Easter mystery of his death and resurrection. From this emerges the exceptional importance of the role of a presbyter as a proclaimer of the word and a celebrator of the mysteries, for the salvation is accomplished through Liturgy. Besides this, through the Eucharist - which is the source and the highest point of both Liturgy and the complete life of the Church – the Church itself is created and it survives, according to the words of St. Augustine: ‘Ecclesia facit eucharistiam, eucharistia facit ecclesiam.’
