Effect of leptin levels and selective metabolic resistance on hypertension and consquence myocardial hypertophy in obese individuals
Hypertension and cardiovascular diseases are strongly associated with obesity. Obesity is charachterised with hyperleptinemia and selective metabolic resistance, with preservation of its sympathoexcitatory actions. Hypertension leads tomyocardial hypertrophy, but till now it was not well understood, it can be result from increased hemodynamic stress and humoral factors. Hyperleptinemia could be one of the factor who potentially contribute myocardial hypertrophy.
