Sažetak
In the paper a method of numerical modelling of the excavation of underground room in the rock is discussed. An example of the excavation of a road tunnel is used to represent stress concentration at the opening. Since the values of the rock mechanical parameters enter a very wide range the computation only of the 2nd and 3rd excavation category has been done by the parameters variation within the possible limits. The computation has been done after FEM comprising the Hoek-Brown criterion of failure. The results of stability analysis point to the zones where failure of the rock material may be anticipated. The comparison of the results of numerical modelling and field recording during excavation is of particular significance.
