From monologue to dialogue in education: Learning and teaching in higher education
This paper discusses the technological – instrumental and dialogic approach to learning and teaching in the critical discourse of higher education global politics. I focus on the process of learning and teaching within the sociocultural theory of learning, teaching and development. The theoretical elaboration of learning and teaching as dialogue and its reification in standard, conventional institutional conditions indicate the importance of “authentic”, “authorial” learning from the perspective of the teacher and the student. The presupposed importance of intersubjectivity and criticality during learning and teaching has been repeatedly reaffirmed in prior research about learning and teaching in various institutional contexts.
