Analysis of Aircraft Accidents on the Territory of the Republic of Croatia
The chances that a person experiences an airplane accident, according to world researches, are around 1 to 11 million. The analysis of the number of airplane accidents in the function of achieved traffic effect of the airplane – flight mileage and number of flight hours, as well as the analysis of the passenger fatality in the function of passenger mileage, confirm the trend of raising the level of safety. On the territory of the Republic of Croatia, on average between 8 and 15 accidents occur per year. In most cases the cause is human factor. By analysing airplane accidents based on the data from the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, and their comparison with the data from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), it can be concluded that the level of safety in the Republic of Croatia is in rank with world standards.
