"The Wind in the Willows": Characters and Settings
The thesis presents an analysis of the characters and the settings in Kenneth Grahame's novel "The Wind in the Willows" (1908). The characters are considered in terms of being either flat or round (Forster, p. 73). Their development in the plot and their importance for the story progress are explored. Characters do not share the same social status, so that relationships among individual characters is explained in the context of the the norms and features of the society depicted in the novel, which represents the society in Britain during the Edwardian period, early in the twentieth century. Finally, the Croatian translation of the book is briefly commented.
