Teaching English through drama art and music
The thesis has two parts. The first and longer part consists of a strong theoretical basis, and it conveys the importance of applying creativity in the foreign language classroom – in this case the English language in Croatian schools. Pupils learn better if the material is presented to them in an interesting, amusing and learner-friendly way. Creativity implicates cross-curricular language teaching in order to achieve better results. Incorporating drama strategies, arts and music in the foreign language classroom facilitates learning a foreign language. The second part is based on an observation of a class led by a native speaker. It presents all the activities, strategies and methods used in the classroom. Pupils were exposed to a completely different way of learning language from the one they were used to, and they responded beyond any expectations.
