Quality Testing of Tactile Braille Prints Reproduced with UV Inkjet Technology
Despite the constant development of screen readers and touch screens, tactile impressions are still an essential tool for communicating with a population of visually impaired and provide the opportunity for greater autonomy of these persons. The primary objective of this paper is to examine the usability of Inkjet technology for the production Braille text and tactile images - the possibility of forming an adequate relief using different number of UV varnish layers. Affirmative results obtained by interview contribute to the development of a new procedure for providing tactile image which is characterized by simplicity, minimal preparation time and the ability to create different “picture” from print to print.
