Sažetak
Due to the relatively high capacitive currents, very low toxicity and low price, MnO2 has become the most investigated electrode material for electrochemical supercapacitors. Capacitive properties of MnO2 largely depend on its structure which can be controlled by the method of preparation. In order to obtain the best capacitive properties, the knowledge of the exact redox reaction which takes place during the charging/discharging of MnO2 is very important. In this work manganese oxide was prepared by anodic deposition. The aim was to examine its redox reactions during the charging/discharging by chronoamperometry and simultaneous methods of cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical quartz crystal nano-balance. The measurements were carried out in 0.5 M Na2SO4 (pH value of 5.6), at various potential ranges. The observed changes in structure of deposited oxide during its charging/discharging process were monitored by UV-VIS and XPS spectroscopy.
