Foreign direct investment and development of sustainable tourism: Case of Republic of Croatia
The working definition of sustainable development in tourism activities refers to the aim of achieving sustainable economic growth, employment and a rising standard of living in a country, while maintaining financial stability and environmental sustainability, and thus contributing to sustainable economic development. In recent years, impact of Foreign Direct Investment on sustainable development in the tourism sector has become more recognized in the context of the contribution to the country’s economic growth. Also, there is increasing motivation on the part of all stakeholders in tourism sector to make this investment more sustainable.
