Some examples of pottery depots in the postholes during the period from Middle till the end of Late Bronze Age in north Croatia
In this paper we will present several ceramic depots from the Bronze Age site Kurilovec- Belinščica which is located a few kilometers south of Zagreb. The settlement dates back to the end of the Middle and beginning of the Late Bronze Age. Remains of many postholes are suggesting that the village is consisted of above ground wooden buildings. A couple of postholes were filled with pottery fragments and stone objects and we assume that these are the remains of rituals that probably took place after removal of the pillars from the pit. A similar situation will present the case from the already well-known Late Bronze Age site Kalnik-Igrišče. We have found two pottery depots from destroyed building that dates back to the 9 century BC. In this paper we will observe some other similar phenomena in the region.
