PEMPHIGUS VULGARIS SUCCESSFULY TREATED WITH COMBINED PLASMAPHERESIS AND IMMUNOSUPPRESSIVE THERAPY
We present a male patient with pemphigus chronicus vulgaris (PCV) who was successfully treated with combined immunosuppressive therapy and plasmapheresis. PCV was verfied by histological and immunofluorescence analysis (direct and indirect). Indirect immunofluorescence showed titar more than 1:320. After three plasmapheresis treatements combined with immunosuppressive therapy (prednisolon 120 mg and azathioprin 150 mg daily), skin and mucous changes were significantly reduced. Nikolsky phenomenon was negative, IIF titar was 1:10. Remission of PCV was achieved with this combined therapy in short period of time. Three months after last plasmapheresis with slowly reduction of the illness with negative titar of pemphigus antibodies.
