Mithraic centers on the road comunication in Croatia (parts of Roman Dalmatia, Pannonia Inferior, Pannonia Superior and Histria)
From the Croation territory (wich includes parts of Roman Dalmatia and Roman Pannonia as well as a part of Histria) altogether 25 sites are confirmed, wich provided: 29 votive aras, 35 reliefs and 5 mithraeums. The bulk of the mithraic cult was certainly connected with the major Roman roads and water communications. The dispersion of Mithraic sites along the main Roman roads, throught Pannonia and Dalmatia, shows accordance with important settlements: Senia, Arupium, Iader, Salona, Epidaurum, Siscia, Mursa. On the Imperial road from Rome to Constantinopol (Bizant), throught Croatia (the part of Pannonia) there were two important longitudinal roads: the first road was Siscia Sirmium, along the Sava valley and the other road was Aqua Viva - Mursa Cibalae to Sirmium , following the rivers of Drava and Dunav. These two roads were well connected with the other Province roads, to the North and to the South, conecting the territory of Pannonia and Dalmacia.
