A reflection - Developing, not Building
Differences between the two cultures (Eastern and Western), from which the students at this workshop originate, have enriched both us and our approach to researching basic values of urbanity of Split - density, intensity, resilience. By evaluating the transformability of Diocletian Palace as a key process, as well as honouring the coexistence of past and present, we have tried to establish clear criteria for future development. The relationship between two completely different consumers of the Palace, tourists and residents, has been analysed, our goal being the development of a future coexistence.
Split, Diocletian's palace, urbanity, development, coexistance
