Toxogenetic action of substances during galvanization process in the genome of somatic human cells
The aim of this study was to analyse the results of cytogenetic examination of genotoxicity of chemical substances (trichloroethylene and acids) and metal ions during galvanization process affecting occupationally exposed persons. The examination was carried out on a group of 10 persons whose constant occupational period extends from 2-7 years. The lymphocyte cultures were established in conditions that are standard for studies of structural chromosome aberrations (CA), sister chromatid exchange (SCE) and number and distrubution of micronuclei (MN). The results of cytogenetic analysis show an increased numbed of micronuclei as well as chromosomal abnormalities in some cases. The SCE frequency does not decline from control values.
