Pallid Corpses in Golden Coffins: Relics, Reliquaries and the Art of Relic Cults in the Adriatic Rim

The dissertation focuses on artistic aspects of a medieval phenomenon, the veneration of relics. Images in all media are examined (reliquaries, sculpted tombs, and painted images) that support various cults of saints in medeival Venice, Veneto and Dalmatia.
