Azithromicin and ranitidine bismuth citrate with and withouth amoxicilin for Helicobacter pylori eradication
Our study shows taht one week triple therpy with azithromycin 1g and for 3 days, amoxicilin 1g bid and ranitidiine biosmuth citrate 4oo mg bid both for 7 days achived higher H. Pylori erdaication rate and clinical cure rate than one week dual therapoy with azithromycin 1g od for 3 days and ranitidine bismuth citrate 4oomg bid for 7 days, with no statistical relevant diferences among the regimens. However both treatments were well tolerated. Triple therapy with azithromicin, amoxicillin and ranitidine bismuth citrate met the afficacy requriments (eradication rate more tha 80 percent in rigorous ITT basis) set by The Maastricht Consensus Report).
