Critical Discourse Analysis as a Tool for Analysing Job Advertisements
The paper examines the genre of job advertisements based on the advertisements published in three daily newspapers during the month of March 2008 (Slobodna Dalmacija, Večernji list and Jutarnji list). Within the genre of the job advertisements, there are two subtypes: institutional advertisements and corporate advertisements. This paper analyzes basic elements of job advertisements focusing on the differences between the two major subtypes and critically interprets the examples drawing from the framework of critical discourse analysis.
