Mother's attitude regarding parental styles and child maltreatment in Croatia

The purpose of the study was to assess the situation of attitudes towards parental styles and if there are any maternal factors, more specifically age, level of education and county of residence that could predict the likelihood of a mother abusing her child or employing a less safe approach in child rearing. The data was obtained from 284 primipara mothers in Croatia answering a questionnaire concerned with the already mentioned concerns.results show that younger maternal age, lower level of education and a more remote place of residence demonstrated to be maternal factors associated with abusive and unsafe child upbringing.
