NEW HYDRO PLANTS FOR CROATIA IN THE NEXT CENTURY
The use of water resources for power generation in Croatia dates back to the beginning of the century, some 20 years from beginig of commercial power generation. The Manojlovac hydro plant on the Krka river was constructed as 1906, and the Kraljevac plant on the Cetina river started operation in 1912. In spite of the subsequent development of thermal and nuclear plants, hydro plants in Croatia have an important position in the power supply of the country. This article describes eight projects which could be built in the near future to exploit some of the remaining hydro potential in Croatia.
