Peter Pan Narratives in Croatian Translations

This thesis is about Peter Pan narratives translated into Croatian. The aim of this thesis is to present the origin of the story by J. M. Barrie, explaining its transition from literature for adults to children’s literature and to compare the works in which Peter Pan story appears. Also, the character of Peter Pan from “The Little White Bird” and “Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens” is compared with the one from the play “Peter Pan” and the novel “Peter and Wendy”, which is widely known today. In the end, Croatian translators of Peter Pan narratives are listed and differences between two Croatian translations of the novel, both entitled “Petar Pan”, are presented in comparison with the original text.
