Mletački idiom u Zadru i mletacizmi u suvremenom govoru Zadra

Our study intends to highlight the results of a long-doctoral research carried out in the city of Zadar, even though the initial idea was created in Udine, where its University still preserves copies of Linguistic Atlas of Italy – Atlante Linguistico Italiano. As well as the corpus of vernaculars present in Italian territory, ALI contains also information of local vernaculars present in the eastern Adriatic coast (material that was never published). The data and the number of points (locations) collected was huge, therefore it was necessary to select and filter the data found, and consequently to restrict the field of our investigation. Therefore the location of Zadar was chosen, and the Venetian language collected from Pellis was analyzed on all structural levels. We present the specificity of Zadar’s Venetian idiom and do a comparison to other Venetian models. In order to examine all the romance loanwords still visible in the today’s spoken language of Zadar, we collected the spoken material of today’s language using the same ALI’s questioner. The linguistic corpus (about 5000 answers) provides us with clear lexical equivalents that exist in the transposition from Venetian to today’s Croatian language. Also, all romance loanwords are being statistically analyzed with specific attention to earlier and later romance stratus, old and new generation of speakers and across all semantic fields. To understand the depth of romance filtration and interference in the urban vernacular of Zadar an analysis of morphologic adaptation has been carried out.
