Immunogenetic profile of psoriasis vulgaris type I in Croatian patients
Psoriasis vulgaris is a skin disease with an immunological and genetic background. To further evaluate the nature of HLA associations with psoriasis, we studied the allelic frequences and haplotypes of HLA class I and class II in patients with psoriasis type I. We used serological HLA typing of DRB1, DQA1 and DQB1 loci in 46 patients with psoriasis vulgaris (24 male, 22 female). The control group consisted of 92 randomly selected healthy blood donors. The haplotypes most frequently distinguished between patients with psoriasis and controls were carrying A*0201 (P=0.0091, RR=20.09), Cw+0602(P<0.00005 ; RR8.58). Analysis of haplotypes in patient families revealed the following to be candidates for psoriatic haplotypes in Croatian patients: A*0201-B*13-Cw*0602-DRV1*0701-DQA1*0201- DQB1*03 and A*02-B*5701-Cw*0602.
