THE IMPACT OF EXTRACURRICULAR MUSICAL ACTIVITIES IN CROATIAN PRIMARY SCHOOLS ON PUPILS’ FREE TIME SPENDING
This part reports on the research carried out on 611 pupils in eight primary schools in the County of Istria in Croatia. The purpose of the research was to establish whether pupils' participation in extracurricular musical activities had a long-term impact on the ways in which they spent their free time. The research was based on the central premise that participation in extracurricular musical activities enabled pupils to acquire and develop musical artistry, as well as to express their musical creativity and talent. The findings suggest that musical activities provide a cultural-artistic aspect of spending free time, which impacts future free time activities.
