Radiocarbon (14C) is not used only for dating of cultural heritage objects, but also in various environmental studies. Some studies were enabled because of anthropogenically induced disturbance of atmospheric 14C activity due to atmospheric tests of nuclear and thermonuclear bombs after the World War II. The disturbance of natural 14C distribution is observed also in cities and industrial areas, where large amount of fossil fuels are combusted, specially during winter months.Local disturbances are also observed in close vicinities of nuclear power plants. Finally, determination of bio-fuel fraction in various fuels becomes more and more important, and one of the simplest method is by measuring the 14C concentration in (mixed) fuels. Some problems related to this methods are pointed out.
