Optimization of Drill Chisel Edge Geometry and Sharpening Parameters by Parallel Sharpening Cone Axes
Because of the inability to physicaly measure the chisel edge geometry, the surface mathematical equations are derived of which intersection contains chisel edge. The rake angle equations are derived containing all the drill and sharpening parameters. Except for the sharpening geometry measurment with the aid of the derived equations one can optimize the sharpening parameters successful in the optimal cutting conditions and the longer drill life.
