Early Christian Archaeology in Northern Croatia : The State of Research

The state of research of early Christian archaeology in northern Croatia is discussed, attention to some of its peculiarities and controversial issues brought, and finally, an unusual poverty in finds, especially as concerns architecture, pinpointed. This is done on the basis of architecutal remains or a presumption of their existence, as well as on the basis of small finds. The following sites have been considered: Sisak, Vinkovci, Osijek, Ludbreg, Varaždinske Toplice, Štrbinci, Lobor, Sotin and Veliki Bastaji. Finally, perspectives of future research and anticipated finds is discussed.
