Logistics Information Systems Security and Protection Methods
In the life of any business system, including a hotel business system, a logistics information system (LIS) represents a basic part of the infrastructure upon which the entire business operates. Therefore, the proper and unobstructed functioning of LISsis a basic prerequisite for the normal running of a hotel business system. In order to enable unobstructed LIS functioning, it is very important to protect the system from all potential attacks and threats that could jeopardizedata security and the business itself. It is necessary to continuously and thoroughly plan, enforce and monitor LIS security and the security of LIS components, keeping in mind that the security of an entire system is proportional to the security of its weakest point. Once security has been established this does not mean that a business system can be considered secure forany period of time. No single business system can be 100 per cent secure. This paper focuses on protection methods and security mechanisms derived from technical and programme methods, whichprimarily refer to a variety of hardware and software solutions. Legal methods of protection are also analysed, indicating the multidisciplinary aspect of the security issue.
