Treatment of Collocations in Selected English-Croatian Dictionaries

A detailed analysis of two English-Croatian dictionaries has shown that there are substantial differences in the treatment of collocations in selected bilingual dictionaries. With the aim of improving existing bilingual dictionaries and eventually making an English-Croatian and/or a Croatian-English dictionary of collocations, suggestions that should make this task easier have been put forward and some methodological guidelines have been proposed.
