From feudal law regulations (urbarialis regulatio) till modern cadastre – cadastre as a source for medieval history of Croatian towns

The oldest cartographical representations of Croatian towns with some characteristics of a cadastre come from the middle of the 18th century. These maps appeared in the context of the feudal law reform of Maria Theresa (Theresiana urbarialis regulatio) and for the Croatian area they represent a precursory cadastre. Founded on the common instructions of cartographic drawings from 1747, the mentioned maps with related registers created for the purpose of Slavonian feudal law of 1756 with respect of Croatian feudal law from 1774 allowing the first detailed insight into the morphological and functional structure of some Croatian settlements.
