Contemporary childhood: ideals and reality
Authors claim that the scientific and professional discussion on the contemporary global changes and accesses to education might contribute to deeper understanding childhood diversities and framing a general childhood concept. More complete childhood research presupposes interdisciplinary approach and a starting point treating a contemporary childhood as a historically constructed and structural component of the society, while children as social factors and creators of their own social world. Discussion on contemporary childhood sheds light on a hypothetical claim that the world of adults is focused more on children as “projects” than on children autonomy and individuality. Chosen qualitative methodology within the phenomenological approach, has helped authors of this paper to find the new way in understanding adult – child relation in instructional dialogue in the context of teaching and play.
