Sažetak
Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is a disorder mediated by the characteristic antiphospholipid antibodies with subsequent arterial and venous thromboembolic incidents. There is increasing evidence of an association between autoimmune events on the one side and lymphoproliferative disorders on the other side. The association of APS and splenic marginal zone lymphoma is recognized, but according to our knowledge the association with nodal marginal zone lymphoma so far has not yet been documented. We present the case of 64-year old female with abnormal coagulation test that was admitted to the Clinical Hospital Centre Rijeka for a surgical excision of slow growing tumor mass of the left femoral region. Pathological analysis of surgical specimen revealed an increased lymph node measuring 4 cm in greatest dimension. Histological, immunohistochemical and molecular analysis confirmed a diagnosis of nodal marginal zone non- Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), while serological test revealed the presence of lupus anticoagulants and anticardiolipin antibodies while antinuclear antibodies were negative. Activated partial thromboplastin time as well as factor V, VII and X was reduced. This case is presenting a synchronous appearance of a specific type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and antiphospholipid syndrome. So, it highlights the importance of targeted diagnostic processing of NHL patient with coagulation disorder in order to exclude the possibly associated APS.
