Functional Characteristics of the Teacher's Language

Trough its basic roles the school teaching stimulates and develops specific forms of teaching and ways of thinking. The implemantation of the programme of teaching is directly connected with the professional competence and personality of the preschool teacher as well as with the child's adaptibility to school teaching. In this paper we focused our atention to the teacher's verbal behaviour in the preschool education. It is assumed that the language environment and social interaction make up the basic factors of the child's cognitive development and of its language development. Some knowlwdge of the teacher's behaviour and conduct in communication with children can be useful in finding the appropriate methods for establishing a dialog in which the activities of the participants are complementary.
