Using Common Database for Improving Frequency Management in Aviation
This work presents how to improve process of coordination between frequency managers allocated in particular ICAO states for European and North Atlantic Office during the process of searching and registering for the new frequencies assignments and modifications as well as deleting existing frequency in the field of LF, MF, VHF, UHF and SHF frequency bands which are used for the voice communication pilot-controller (COM2), and for air navigation aids (COM3÷COM5). The existing process of frequency coordination is either based on the research of the frequency spectrum with support of MANIF software developed by the Eurocontrol, or based on their database, which depends on the level of technological development of each Agency. This brings to the fact that frequency resources are used in non-effective manner, allowing for big probability of interferences. The work is presenting the process of fully electronic data exchange with common database for conducting frequency coordination and providing direct access to official records of frequency assignments using XML as program language what enables intercommunication of all types of computers and application program’s in the network.
