Technological Features of Departure Control System at Airport
This article shows technological aspect of airport Departure Control Systems (DCS). DCSs are created to use IT solutions which are based on connectivity to Wide Area Networking (WAN) systems along with modern technologies used for creating Computer networks based on local scale within the system (LAN Local Area Networking). An overview of the main system segments gives us better insight in the technology used for the system to be safe, secure and functional. iMUSE DCS shows its effective force in prompt and regular way of progress in air traffic operated at the airport. It resides independently in cluster of IT solutions used on airport and it manifests itself through automated approach in processing passengers documents at check-in counters, transfer desks, gates and other operational segments of passenger handling. The real-time Data exchange with airline reservation systems is the second relevant factor, since it is a prerequisite for the airline company to be able to use the Internet WEB check-in. This feature reduces the possibility of queuing for passengers at the airport terminal.
