Numerical investigation of the flow instabilities in centrifugal fan
It is well known in the practice that rotor blade geometry and shape of channels influence flow pattern and stability of the centrifugal fan. Practical recommendations on how to reduce the instabilities as source of energy losses and noise are based on experience and experimental approach. The research is based on the numerical approach, instead of experimental one, for flow stabilities investigation. The calculation of flow instabilities for two different types of the shroud and two different number of blades are performed. The results are transferred, via FFT analysis in frequency domain, where additional conclusions about instabilities phenomena are carried out.
