Nationalism in James Joyce's Dubliners
This paper discusses the theme of nationalism in James Joyce's collection of short stories Dubliners with special focus on the allusions in the stories to some key figures and events from Irish history, in particular Charles Stuart Parnell, Home Rule and Irish Literary Revival. The paper is focused on the analysis of three stories: «Ivy Day in the Committee Room», «A Mother» and «The Dead».
