BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE AS A MEANS OF INCREASING INFORMATION AND KNOWLEDGE VALUE

Business intelligence is becoming the primary strategic orientation of a company in facing its competitors (business intelligence in the strict sense) and in its orientation towards other environmental factors – customers, suppliers (business intelligence in the broader sense). The essence of the model is to transform the vast data into key information and knowledge that must be available at any time, thus allowing the management to make a business decision and create a development design with greater success rate. In other words, the essence of the model is to collect, distribute and analyse data and information in real time. In turbulent and dynamic 20th century market conditions, the post-informational revolution era (the amount of information and knowledge is doubling every year) and a knowledge society, a hospitality management company must attain its objectives by managing information and applying knowledge. The objective is to be one step ahead of the competition and customers, i.e. to provide quick response (innovation) as crucial advantage of modern economy.
