Repair of anchor blocks at Lička Plješevica antenna tower

The antenna Tower Lička Plješivica was built in 1978, and during 35 years of exploitation in heavy environmental conditions, the deterioration of concrete anchor blocks occurred. It is not only the outer surfaces which have deteriorated, but also the inner parts of concrete anchor blocks. On the basis of investigation works, it was concluded that deterioration occurred due to the combination of extreme environmental conditions (freeze and thaw) and the cracks in the concrete caused by tensile forces. The investigation works, repair design, repair procedure and results of laboratory testing are shown in the paper.
