Status of somatic cell count (SCC) and pathogen microorganisms in cow's milk from individual farmers in north-west Croatia
Actual problems of disturbed secretion were tested during the year 1998. Data for the number of somatic cells and presence of psthogen microorganisms in 1028 samples are given in tables. The disturbed secretion from cow udders (up to 350000 SCC) was established in 41, 92% of samples. Positive bacteriological result was established in 56, 2% samples. Microorganisms most frequently present in milk are: Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus sppp., Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus spp., Klebsiella spp., Pseudomonas spp., Bacilus spp., Enterobacteriaceae and Fungi. Number of somatic cells was used as a screening method for the detection of subclinical mastitis and for detection of disturbed secretion.
