Manouvering characteristics of a VLCC matemathical model in ballast condition

The knowledge of ship manoeuvering characteristic is based upon the relevant theoretical knowledge and is a prerequisite for safe ship handling. poor or insufficient theoretical knowledge, however, may result in a bas performance of a particular ship handling operation by the navigating officer. This can cause damage to own ship and other nearby ships, to cargo and can, likewise, imperil life at sea. In the extreme cases, it may also give rise to the loss of ships or cargo and to fatal losses to the ship's crew. Handling large ships requires additional knowledge and a higer predicting capability for which purpose manouvering diagrams within a VLCC mathematical model in ballast have been worked out analysed.
