Second Language Acquisition and Age
This BA thesis deals with the second language acquisition ; more precisely, with the second language acquisition of the English language. The aim is to present the information relative to SLA found in various sources of literature, as well as all the differences that appeared through time while examining this field of study. What is most significant regarding second language acquisition is the theory called Critical Period Hypothesis. In this BA thesis, the author proposes that age is the most relevant social and biological factor while acquiring a second language and that the proficiency of the English language depends on the age of onset, i.e. the age when the process of learning a language had begun.
