The human role in project time-cost overrun scenario

The paper deals with human role in project time-cost overrun scenario. The main objective of this research is to find a distinction between various overrun causes. Results of an investigation of overrun scenarios on large database of construction projects are described. Comment on main sources of overruns is included. The key conclusion is that it is not possible and essential to control overruns occurrence in an absolute sense, but it is essential to eliminate those addressed to human factor. It will be a significant step in reducing overruns in total. Although the sample projects are from within Croatia, the results are valuable for other countries.
