Art Criticism and the Semantic Construction of the Concept of Design

Paper describes efforts by art critics to establish and discuss the concept of design in the nineteen-fifties in Croatia. Within the context of industrial modernization these efforts were unique voices promoting a need to implement design practice within industrial production, but from the standpoint of culture.
