Sažetak
In this paper, the application of R-function method for solving torsion problem of prismatic bar is presented. R-function method (Rvachev, 1982) was developed in Kharkiv during the second half of the last century. To describe the problem mathematically, the so called “solution structure” is constructed which depends on the shape of the domain, boundary conditions and differential component. The first two components are given accurately using R-function method, and the third differential component is determined as linear combination of classical or finite basis functions. Comparison of results obtained with proposed procedure and with the finite element method is illustrated on the torsion problem of prismatic bar.
