Sažetak
The paper presents the results of the three-year research focused on morphological (plant height, technical length and thickness of the stem) and textile-technological properties (length, fineness and tenacity of fibres) of five foreign cultivars of fibre flax: Agatha, Electra, Venica, Viking and Viola. The influence of fertilizers on the properties of the plant and fibre was monitored by cultivation of fibre flax with the addition of various amounts of nitrogen (0, 30, 60 and 90 kg/ha) applied at different times. Cultivar trials with fibre flax were set up in lowland continental part of Croatia in Zagreb on anthropogenized eutric cambisol. The research of morphological and textile-technological properties of fibre flax it showed that there are significant differences between the investigated cultivars and between the results achieved with different amounts of nitrogen. A comprehensive study of all results indicated that most desirable varieties from the textile point of view are Agatha and Viola.
