Transport technology expert competence according to European policies

Accession process to the European Union requires a detailed analysis of the education system, as well as European guidelines that will in the future form, not just the knowledge society, but also the needs of the transport market. Previous research and sector analysis in the transport sector allows us to identify required core competencies that will be required from the participants involved in any stage of the technological process in the transport system. With implementation of NELI project, these guidelines are shown in practice, according to which education of transport experts should be based on in the future, with special emphasis on the inland waterway sector. This paper shows implementation activities of NELI project that include relevant competence development of transport experts.
