Analysis of Different Weaves Impact on Apparent Elasticity Constants of Woven Fabrics
Anisotropy is the characteristics which is typical for most materials, especially fabrics. Influence of direction of tensile force action on the properties of the fabric is big and frequently tested. The woven fabric can be defined as orthogonal elastomer and it is a special type of porous material which can be treated as non-uniform mixture of fibers and air. The apparent elasticity constants of a woven fabrics for different weaves (plain and twill 1/3) were analyzed theoretically and experimentally in the paper. The bias angle (which is between weft yarns and extension direction) affects apparent elasticity constants of the fabric in the extension direction. Tensile tests are applied on different fabrics in five directions. Tensile force acts in warp and weft direction and oriented increment with respect to the weft direction under the angles of 30, 45, 60 degrees.
